BIMI Integration

This content explains MxToolbox's BIMI Integration.

BIMI lets companies show their logo next to authenticated emails in supporting email client inboxes. It improves customer trust and increases brand recognition. BIMI requires proper DMARC implementation and a verified SVG logo.

Step 1: Add Your Logo

You must use a vector-based SVG for your logo.

You can add your logo in one of two ways:

  • Upload the SVG file directly to our system.
  • Provide a URL to your SVG logo.

Methods to Convert Non-Vector Images to Vector SVG

If your logo is not already in SVG format, you can convert it using one of the following methods:

Note: Validation is minimal. The file must not be dangerous and must end with .svg. We will do additional validation on the provided image later in this process.

Step 2: Update Your DNS

To enable BIMI, you need to add a BIMI record to your domain's DNS settings.

Example BIMI DNS Record

default._bimi.yourdomain.com IN TXT="v=BIMI1; l=https://yourdomain.com/path/to/logo.svg"

  • Replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain.
  • Replace the URL with the location of your SVG logo.

Provider-Specific Instructions

Follow your DNS provider's instructions to add a new TXT record. For detailed steps, refer to the DMARC Integration documentation for provider-specific guidance.

Key BIMI Points

  • Authentication Required: BIMI requires that your domain uses strong email authentication (e.g., DMARC, SPF, and DKIM).
  • Brand Logo: Organizations must provide a verified, trademarked SVG logo.
  • Improved Trust: BIMI helps recipients quickly recognize trusted senders, reducing the risk of phishing.
  • Adoption: Supported by major email providers, such as Yahoo! and Gmail.
