DKIM Configuration and Key Monitoring
This section details MxToolbox's DKIM Configuration feature.
To begin, confirm the DKIM keys that are used for all of your outbound senders. Once a DKIM key has been confirmed, this service will validate it and continue to monitor it to inform you if/when one of your DKIM keys expires or is invalid, long before your recipients start complaining they are not receiving your emails.
Access this Delivery Center feature by clicking here.
- Start by clicking the Configuration button to the right of one of your outbound senders.
- From here you will see a drop-down menu listing DKIM keys that MxToolbox has seen in outbound email from your domain. Please select a DKIM key and hit the Confirm button. If you do NOT see a DKIM key that you use from the list: Please click the checkbox beside Manually enter selector and input the DKIM selectors that are not present. MxToolbox will append those to the domain to create a DKIM key into the list. Not sure what a DKIM selector is? Please scroll down to read more...
Note: If a red error icon appears, the DKIM key for your domain is no longer valid and needs to be fixed. If you see a green OK icon, MxToolbox has confirmed that your DKIM key is currently valid.
- Repeat this process if you use more DKIM keys for that same sender and for all other senders.
I added all of my DKIM Keys... Now what?
Once you have added all of the DKIM keys:
- MxToolbox will monitor all of those DKIM keys for any potential error that could impact your email delivery from an invalid key.
- We will alert you on this page if one or more of the keys is broken/invalid and needs fixing.
In the event there is an issue, the status bar at the top will show a percentage being red with a red error icon next to the DKIM key that has an issue. If everything is all green, you are good to go!*
Overall Status
- If any verified source listed on the page has a FAILING status, this overall status will be noted with FAILING
Statuses on Individual Verified Sources (e.g., Amazon SES, Office 365, Mailchimp, etc.)
- OK (Green): DKIM Policy Rate is > 93% and no DKIM Keys for that source are failing
- Warning (Yellow): DKIM Policy Rate has dropped below 93%, but above 80%. Some email could be impacted
- FAILING (Red):
- DKIM Policy Rate is below 80%.
- One (1) or more DKIM Keys for that source are failing.
- Both DKIM Policy Rate and one (1) or more DKIM Keys are failing.
