SendGrid is a cloud-based SMTP provider that lets its customers send email without having to maintain email servers. It manages all technical details of email, from scaling the infrastructure to ISP outreach and reputation monitoring to whitelist services and real-time analytics.
SendGrid offers two ways to send email from an application: via its SMTP relay or through its Web API. If you decide to use SendGrid without a client library, the Web API option is recommended because it is faster, offers encoding, and is typically easier to set up and use. Plus, our Delivery Center data is based on your SendGrid API, so this setup is needed. The SMTP option provides several features by default, but it is more difficult to complete.
This integration with MxToolbox will give you insight into specific emails that your customers are not engaged with (spam complaints, unsubscribe requests), plus any deliverability/reputation issues. You can even benchmark your performance against additional complaint sources, such as Feedback Loops and DMARC Forensic complaints via additional MxToolbox supported integrations.
