Two-factor Authentication
This article explains how MxToolbox supports two-factor authentication (2FA).
Paid users can protect their accounts with additional security in the form of Two-factor Authentication (2FA), also known as Multi-factor Authentication (MFA).
MxToolbox supports Short Message Service (SMS) and Time-based One-time Password (TOTP).
Visit the MFA Settings Page to configure MFA. Note: You will be asked for your password a second time when accessing the MFA page to confirm that you are recently authenticated and should be able to enable or disable MFA on your account.
Or, you can access 2FA this way:
- Log in to your account.
- Click your username/email address in the top right corner of the page to access the dropdown menu (highlighted red below).
- Click the Settings option (highlighted red below).
- Select the 2-Factor Authorization tab on the black bar menu (highlighted red below).
- Choose which verification method you want (Software Token, Text Message, or Disabled) (highlighted red below).
- After following the instructions, the Status: Enabled and the Two-Factor Authenitication is setup notations will sync (both highlighted red below).
If/when needed, you can update your phone number by clicking the orange Reset Phone Number button on the bottom of the page (highlighted red above).
You can see the MFA status of other users on your account on the Account Management page.
